Ulrich Stander

Ulrich Stander – Director (Managing Partner)
Ulrich Stander holds a BA LLB and an LLM and is an admitted advocate. He completed the Industrial Relations Development Programme (IRDP) at the Stellenbosch University Graduate School of Business (USB), receiving the Director’s award. After working in a senior legal position in the corporate environment, he has been practicing as an employment law and employment relations lawyer, and conflict and negotiations coach for more than 25 years.
Ulrich focuses on advising, opinion work, conflict resolution, mediation, negotiation and training. He acts in an advisory capacity on employment law, employment relations and employment equity strategy and policy-making for corporations in the financial services, media, fishing, retail, e-commerce, transport, education and other industries.
Apart from his passion for, and commitment to, finding integrated solutions to employment law challenges and the challenges of uncontrolled conflict in the workplace, he is also the co-designer of leadership development programs such as Leaders @ Work and Leading for Results, which have been successfully presented for the past 14 years.
He has participated in various sessions on the Harvard Law School Negotiation Programme. Ulrich co-authored two books on employment law, Dismissal – Principles, Checklists and Forms (2004) and Effective Workplace Solutions: Employment law from a business perspective (2016), and occasionally presents guest lectures on employment law and employment relations programmes at the USB. He is an accredited commercial and labour mediator of the ADR Group (London).

WP Moolman

WP Moolman – Senior Associate
WP has an LLB degree and is an admitted attorney. He served his articles at CK Attorneys, whilst also practising as a consultant at Labourman Consultancy, during which period WP specialised in employment law. WP worked as a Senior Associate for Kirchmanns Inc Attorneys and as a consultant for Global Business Solutions. He has broad-ranging experience in the field, including experience of litigation at the Labour Court and representation at CCMA and bargaining council proceedings, facilitating training and consulting on all aspects of employment law and employment relations. WP joined Maserumule in June 2019.

Ross Simon

Ross Simon – Associate
Since being admitted as an attorney, Ross has practiced as a Legal Advisor, advising employers on internal employment related matters and disputes. Thereafter he practiced as a Dispute Resolution Specialist gaining experience in representing employers in the CCMA and Bargaining Councils in some of the most rural and desolate parts of the Eastern Cape. It was during this time that he realised the importance of social justice, economic development and labour peace. Before joining Maserumule Ross was responsible for providing legal support, advice and representation to more than 800 members operating solely within the Retail Motor Industry in the Eastern and Western Cape. Altogether Ross has more than five years employment law experience.
Barney Jordaan

Barney Jordaan – Consultant
Barney Jordaan holds a doctorate in law from Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He is currently professor in negotiation at Vlerick Business School, Belgium where he teaches on the MBA, Masters and executive education programmes. Prior to moving to Belgium in 2014 he held a number of academic appointments in South Africa. These included 14 years as professor of law at Stellenbosch University and thereafter as professor of negotiation and conflict management at the University of Stellenbosch Business School and the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town. He was a founding partner of Maserumule Corporate Employment Law.
Barney has been involved in the mediation field since 1987 as practising mediator, coach and trainer and is a certified mediator with the International Mediation Institute; Conflict Dynamics (SA); the ADR Group (UK); and CEDR (UK).
