â–º Amendment to National Minimum Wage:

On 2 February 2024 the Minister of Employment and Labour amended the national minimum wage.

The national minimum wage will, as of 1 March 2024, increase from R25.42 to R27.58 for each ordinary hour worked. This represents an increase of 8.5% from the minimum wage set in 2023.

The minimum wage for domestic workers and farm workers is also set at R27.58.

Workers employed in the expanded public sector programme will be entitled to a minimum wage of R15.16 per hour.
