Ulrich Stander | Growth Solutions

Ulrich Stander

BA LLM IRDP, Advocate and accredited mediator of the ADR Group (London)

Ulrich Stander holds a BA LLB and an LLM and is an admitted advocate.  He completed the Industrial Relations Development Programme (IRDP) at the Stellenbosch University Graduate School of Business (USB), receiving the Director’s award. After working in a senior legal position in the corporate environment for some time, he has been practising as an employment law and employment relations lawyer for more than 20 years.

Ulrich focuses on advising, conflict resolution, mediation, negotiation and leadership training. He acts in an advisory capacity on employment law strategy and policy-making for numerous corporations in the financial services, media, fishing, retail, e-commerce, transport and other industries.

Apart from his passion for, and commitment to, finding integrated solutions to employment law challenges and the challenges of uncontrolled conflict in the workplace, he is also the co-designer of leadership development programs such as Leaders @ Work and Leading for Results, which have been successfully presented for the past 6 years.

He has participated in various sessions on the Harvard Law School Negotiation Programme. Ulrich co-authored two books on employment law, Dismissal – Principles, Checklists and Forms (2004) and Effective Workplace Solutions: Employment law from a business perspective (2016), and occasionally presents guest lectures on employment law and employment relations programmes at the USB. He is an accredited commercial and labour mediator of the ADR Group (London).

Willem Steyn

Willem Steyn

BA Industrial Psychology MBA

Willem is an experienced business strategist, executive coach and leadership and organisational development specialist. He graduated with a BA degree in Industrial Psychology from Stellenbosch University, and later obtained an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

He served as HR business partner and human capital manager for a number of organisations before starting out as an independent business consultant. Willem has worked with organisations in South Africa, USA, Zambia, India, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Egypt, Nigeria, Australia and Chile and has been involved in projects for companies in financial services, tourism and leisure, culture and social services, retail, medical services, IT and manufacturing, agriculture, telecoms, electronics, mining, food services, motor industry, energy, aviation, engineering, TV and newspapers and has consulted a variety of public service organisations.

Willem has focused on projects in leadership development, organisational design, team performance and executive coaching.  This included projects to implement a new strategic management framework for a major life insurance business; turning an international medical services business around to profitability; guiding the establishment of a new private hospital group; and delivering a full service HR function as strategic business partner to five outsourced business units in the information technology field.

Willem has designed and delivered a variety of leader and team development programmes for blue chip South African and international companies, including programmes for a major retailer.   He has been a member of the facilitation team for a global executive development programme of a world leading resources business and facilitated an award winning programme for a global technology company.

Willem has also lectured on change management, strategic management, general management, people performance dynamics, organisational behaviour and business communication on leadership and management development programmes for UNISA, the University of Stellenbosch Business School and the Graduate Institute of Business Science (GIBS). Participants in these programmes include companies like Anglo American, Sasol, BP, Nokia and Dimension Data.

Ilse Steyn

Ilse Steyn

Ilse Steyn is a Professional Coach and an experienced Organisational Development Consultant and Facilitator. She focuses on the development of competence associated with human effectiveness and fulfilment. Ilse is passionate about helping individuals, teams and organisations move forward and embrace change in a sustainable way, always trusting that people innately have the ability to create the change they wish to see. Her ability to work integrally with the individual, the team and the organisation supports integrated, sustainable change.

Following a meaningful 12 year career as Senior HR Generalist and Specialist at Absa Bank, Ilse launched a people development consultancy in 2011 which offers executive coaching, group facilitation, people change enablement consulting, resilience building interventions, leadership development, strategy and team development.

Ilse holds an Industrial Psychology Honours Degree and Professional Coaching Certification. She is currently enrolled for an MCom Industrial Psychology degree at Stellenbosch University. She is also an Enneagram practitioner and delivers leadership and soft skills training to her diverse client base across the African continent, with programmes including EQ, Self-Mastery, Leader as Coach, Managing Performance, Facilitation Skills, Presentation Skills, Management Fundamentals and the Leadership Accelerator Programme.

Org Linde

Org Linde

Georg (Org) Linde started his academic career as a lecturer in Psychology at the University of the Free State in 1968. He became a senior lecturer in 1975 and associate professor in 1982.

He left the academia in 1987 and joined Sanlam Life Insurance Company as a Senior Management Consultant where, in this capacity, he was responsible for senior management training and development. During his tenure, Org was responsible for many successful initiatives including the first mentor program for previously disadvantaged individuals as well as developing a shared and integrated Employment Equity Policy which is still in effect and managed by the current Employment Equity Officer at Sanlam.

He later resigned from Sanlam Life Insurance and became co-facilitator in a small company focused mainly on the development of board directors and the training and development of management in both small and medium enterprises (in particular black empowered companies), as well as corporates.

Since October 1998, Org has managed his own enterprise: Linde Learning. This enterprise specialises in management development and mentorship training, incorporating affirmative action and employment equity issues in the workplace.

Org has special interests in leadership development, interpersonal skills, conflict management, assessment of management potential and individual development and coaching programs. He conducts strategic planning work sessions for various enterprises and has a broad knowledge of HR practices. He has a special passion for the development of emotional intelligence in the workplace.

Ezanne Oosthuizen

Ezanne Oosthuizen

Ezanne Oosthuizen is an Organisation Development Consultant and Life Coach. She is known for her insight into organisational issues and ability to design bespoke interventions for clients. As a facilitator she brings energy and depth to a group whilst enjoying the mutual learning that takes place. In a coaching relationship, Ezanne creates an environment for clients where they feel comfortable to explore the limiting assumptions in their thinking that might prevent them from living happy and fulfilled lives. Themes that she often works with include: personal and career transitions, emotional maturity, resilience, work life balance and leadership styles. Her philosophy is to build competence through coaching which will enable the client to continuously learn and improve independently.
